ISU-IFWaRM team wins best paper presenter in IC-ENSURES 2022 engagementThe Integrated Flood and Water Resources Management in ASEAN Basins for Sustainable Development (IFWARM) project team of the Isabela State University won as one of the best paper presenters in the 2nd International Conference on Environmental Sustainability and Resource Security (IC-ENSURES 2022) in Malaysia on March 8-9, 2022 at 0900 – 1730 (Malaysia Time). Engr. Christine B. Mata presented her study with Dr. Orlando F. Balderama, Dr. Lanie A. Alejo, Dr. Jeoffrey Lloyd R. Bareng, Dr. Sameh Ahmed Kantoush, and other project staff titled “Impacts of Floods Due to Extreme Rainfall during Typhoon Ulysses in the Cagayan River Basin”, an award-winning technical paper during the Campus and University In-House Reviews of the said University.

This two-day international event was in conjunction with ISTECC 2022 and was virtually aired from Johor Bahru, Malaysia. It was organized by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), UK Research and Innovation, Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF), Research Institute for Sustainable Environment (RISE), and Water Security and Sustainable Development Hub to deliberate about flood and sediment management in the river basins and subsequently indorse green solutions for a sustainable future. The keynote speakers of the said event were Prof. Kaoru Takara (Professor and Dean, Graduate School of Advanced Integrated Studies in Human Survivability, Kyoto University, Japan) who tackled “Climate Change Extreme Event Disaster and Its Management during Pandemic”, as well as Dato’ Seri Ir. Dr. Zaini Ujang (Secretary General, Ministry of Environment and Water, Malaysia) who explained “Climate Resilience: Challenges for Innovation”. Other keynote speakers were Prof. Gustaf Olsson (Professor Emeritus, Industrial Electronical Engineering and Automation, Sweden) who discussed “Climate-Water-Energy-Lifestyle Interactions: A System Approach”, and Prof. Richard Dawson (Professor of Earth Systems Engineering, School of Engineering, Newcastle University, United Kingdom) who elucidated “Climate Resilient Cities and Infrastructure”. Conclusively, Prof. Dawson accentuated the need to have an integrated and systems scale (‘transformative’) response in managing climate risks, and in meeting SDGs and global climate goals.Furthermore, the presentations from other invited speakers and the parallel sessions for the researchers were conducted through virtual network communication. Other ISU-IFWaRM project staff also shared their top-notch researches with Dr. Balderama, Dr. Alejo, Dr. Bareng, and Dr. Kantoush regarding innovative approaches and techniques for integrated flood, sediment, and water resources management implemented in the Philippines. Specifically, Engr. Arlen Alejandro presented their study titled “Forecasting Inflow in Magat Dam and Flood Inundations in Cagayan River Basin under Extreme Rainfall Events Using Rainfall-Runoff-Inundation Model”, while Engr. Czarimah Singson explicated their research titled “Analysis of the Impacts of Climate Change on the Hydrologic Inflow of Magat Reservoir Using SWAT Model”. By and large, the researches presented in the special sessions adhered to the central theme of the event relating to environmental sustainability and resource security.

The things i have always told individuals is that when looking for a good on-line electronics store, there are a few elements that you have to take into account. First and foremost, you should make sure to find a reputable as well as reliable retailer that has enjoyed great reviews and classification from other consumers and market sector people. This will make certain you are handling a well-known store to provide good service and assistance to its patrons. Thanks for sharing your ideas on this blog site.
